There really are no downsides to this reel aside from its price but you can’t get this kind of high-end quality without paying some extra cash for it.

I’ve used this reel a lot, and it’s the best when it comes to fighting big hard fighting fish like tuna or GT’s.
You can crank up the drag pressure so much to slow down even 100lb plus fish with ease.
Build
It’s built with uncompromising durability as every component and system is as high-quality as it gets.
The full metal body of the SW C Shimano spinning reel is waterproofed to IPX8 meaning it can be submerged deeper than 1 meter for 30 minutes before any nasty saltwater gets in.
Line
To add to this, the reel also features X-shield & protect, and a waterproof drag system, so there is very little chance of any corrosion or dirt and grit getting into the inner workings.
The amount of heavy line you can fit on these reels is amazing.
With 570 yards of 100lb braid combined with 55lbs of maximum drag, no creature really stands a chance.

The only downside to the Ultegra is its graphite body.
For the price, you’d expect more durable aluminum, but you would have to pay more, or have fewer features, so the trade off is about right in my eyes.
Graphite is also still pretty durable and it’s 100% corrosion resistant.
